Clemson University Wordmark

Kellogg Radiation Lab (Caltech) staff in 1959. In this lab most measurements of thermonuclear rates in stars were measured. Among those pictured: Humblet (seated 2nd from left); Whaling (kneeling right); Fowler (kneeling 2nd row center, at age 47); C. C. Lauritsen (standing 2nd from right); D. D. Clayton (standing 4th from right, at age 24); Seeger (partial face in last row); Kavanagh (tallest head in front of console). Clayton's laboratory work at this time was a nuclear reaction that measured properties of states relevant to the 13C + p reaction in the CN cycle.
