Clayton and family boarding the original Cunard Line ship, Queen Elizabeth, at the 42nd Street docks in New York in April 1967. They were moving for five months to Cambridge UK for the opening of Hoyle's new Institute for Theoretical Astronomy. Barbara Hoyle had rented a lovely house, White Cottage at 15 Storey's Way in Cambridge, for their visit, not only during 1967 but again in 1968. Mary Lou, sons Devon (left age 6) and Donald (right age 7). Devon and Donald had been born in Pasadena in 1961 (Clayton's thesis defense year) and 1960 resp. Clayton was age 32. Mary Lou and Devon are now deceased.
