W. A. Fowler and Robert N. Clayton at 11:00 am coffee break on the second morning (Aug. 11, 1976) at Gregynog for the 1976 Workshop on Isotopic Anomalies, which was organized by D. Clayton. See 1976 Gregynog Group for more details of this historic workshop. Robert Clayton opened the isotopic anomaly box in 1973 with his discovery of excess 16O within Allende refractory minerals. His 9:15 paper on "O, N and Si Isotopic Anomalies" had just been presented. These discoveries inspired theoretical papers that laid the conceptual groundwork for interpretation and also of presolar STARDUST grains (which were not isolated until 1987).
