Donald Clayton presenting his contributed paper "A new fossil record of the dynamic evolution of the interstellar medium" on June 12, 1979, at the Wellesley meeting of the AAS. (BAAS 11, 412 (1979)). This paper introduced the idea that mass-dependent sputtering of isotopes from interstellar dust can be remembered in macroscopic aggregates in the solar accretion disk. Clayton called such theories "Cosmic Chemical Memory". See his R. G. Darwin Lecture of that name to the RAS in 1981 (QJRAS 23, 174 (1982))and ApJ 251, 374 (1981), where this figure shown first in session 9 of this AAS meeting reappears in ApJ.
