Thielemann, who snapped this shot, accompanied Hillebrandt from Darmstadt. They now count among the primary leaders of nuclear astrophysics in Europe. This photo is on Aug. 11, 1981; see next entry for another including Thielemann on the same occasion. This followed Clayton's lecture "Extinct Radioactivities: a three-phase mixing model (ApJ 268, 381 (1983))" at MPI on this date.
