Richard A. Ward, Dieter Hartmann and Donald Clayton during Workshop on Nucleosynthesis and Isotopic Anomalies organized and held at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in honor of Clayton's 1991 Leonard Medal of the Meteoritical Society. July 27, 1991. Ward did PhD at Rice with Clayton on s process studies (ApJ 193,397; 216,540; ApJSuppl 31, 33) and then joined Fowler at Caltech, where they worked on 26Al isomeric state. Ward later move to Max Planck Inst Munich where he became part of the Karlsruhe rebirth of the s process (ApJ 257, 821 (1982)). Hartmann is faculty member at Clemson University, following his PhD with Woosley.
