Clayton held there the faculty appointment Visiting Associate in Physics and Shaw was Research Associate at Rice University. Their joint published papers concerned photo-induced beta decay in stars (Phys. Rev. 140, B1433-41 (1965) and on Coulomb de-excitation of 12C in hot He gas (Astrophys. J. 148, 301-303 (1967).
