Fowler, Clayton and Maarten Schmidt in February 1967 in Fowler's office in Kellogg Radiation Laboratory at Caltech. Schmidt had recently deciphered the QSO redshifts. Fowler and Clayton were preparing for a move to Cambridge UK for the opening of Hoyle's Institute of Theoretical Astronomy.
