Fred Hoyle chats with lifelong friend Thomas Gold during the third afternoooon of the 1976 Workshop on Isotopic Anomalies at Gregynog, Wales. Hoyle tells much of this friendship and their discovery of steady-state cosmology in his autobiography "Home is where the wind blows", where he has published a second photo of this pair taken but a few minutes later but including D.Clayton. After dinner Gold presented his lecture "General remarks on the uniformity of the solar mix and on accretion by the moon". P. Solomon is behind in this picture, all standing before the Davies mansion at Gregynog.
