Ernst Zinner and Robert N. Clayton at the NASA Workshop "Interrelationships among Circumstellar, Interstellar, and Interplanetary Dust", at Wye Plantation Conference Center (Maryland) on Feb. 28, 1985. The published book gives science details. Zinner had developed SIMS capability to the point of detecting D-rich interplanetary dust particles, as he reported in Houston in 1984. Robert Clayton had identified 4.5% richness of 16O in CAI in 1973. Both were breakthrough discoveries that stimulated Stardust searches.
