Greg Morfill and Donald Clayton at the 1993 Gordon Conference "Origins of Solar Systems". These two became friends during Clayton's Heidelberg years (1977-81) when the viscous accretion disk seemed to offer hope of an origin for chondrules and isotopic anomalies from cosmic chemical memory. This photo is from July 1993 conference at Colby-Sawyer College, NH. This Gordon Conference intentionally resumed the spirt of the 1960s series on Physics and Chemistry of Space at the Tilton School NH, which after the Apollo 11 sample return gave way to the Lunar and Planetary Science Conferences at Johnson Space Center.
