Clemson University Wordmark

Sumner Starrfield, John Cowan and Claudia Travaglio at Carnegie Centennial Symposium IV, "Origin and Evolution of the Elements", Pasadena CA, 16-21 Feb. 2003. Travaglio et al. (ApJ 510, 325, 1999) attempted to find the mixes of supernova matter from which the SiC supernova grains condensed. Cowan has championed the s/r process decompositions in old metal-poor stars, demonstrating their r process dominance. Starrfield is a pioneer of the thermonuclear nova models.
