Donald Clayton, Bernard Pagel and Ken Nomoto stand in the library at the Carnegie Observatories on Santa Barbara Street in Pasadena. They met for the Carnegie Centennial Symposium IV, "Origin and Evolution of the Elements", Pasadena CA, 16-21 Feb. 2003. Each gave invited talks to be found in the book (Camb. Univ. Press 2004). Early photos of the friendship between Clayton and Pagel can be found in 1968 on this archive. Nomoto and Clayton appear in the 1983 group photo for the Yerkes Conference.
